About Us

Established in September 2018, Absinthe Minded Wicks, is a family owned and operated small batch candle company located in the mountains of Montana. Our vision is to commemorate traditions and lore that are dark, foreboding, and shadow us throughout the year and across the globe. We strive to enhance moods and create memories that can be experienced through high quality, hand poured, and beautifully fragranced candle collections.

Absinthe Minded Wicks is most notably inspired by gothic themes, the macabre, melancholy inspirations, dark poetic literature, the supernatural, fantasy and mythical creatures, old world traditions, and well celebrated and observed holidays such as Halloween and Christmas. Our company name was inspired from “La F’ee Verte” or most commonly known as, “The Green Fairy”.

The dinner scene from the movie masterpiece, Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), resonated with us for many years. Surrounded by candlelight, Dracula told Mina, ”Absinthe is the aphrodisiac of the self. The green fairy who lives in the absinthe wants your soul. But, you are safe with me”. The Green Fairy can be referred to as nectar of the poets in which she made geniuses of mediocrities. We see Absinthe, and the Green Fairy, painted by Picasso, Van Gogh, and Edgar Allen Poe, of whom were drawn to the power of the Green Muse. This seemed very appropriate and fitting for a vision which began to grow with us so many years ago.

Now, Absinthe Minded Wicks is excited to tell you stories through brilliant candlelight and powerful aromatics. Stories that are dark, chilling, thought provoking, and of the fantastic. Candles collections that intrigue, inspire, and create memories through beautifully rich fragrances. We are excited to be able to share our ever growing candle collections with you and welcome you to the unknown.
